Dr. Maxim Demchenko
Dr. Maxim Demchenko is an Associate Professor at Moscow State Linguistic University, specializing in Hindi language teaching, public speaking, lecturing, and translation. He was honored with the prestigious Hindi Samman award by the Government of India, presented by Hon’ble External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar at the Vishwa Hindi Sammelan in Fiji (2023) for his exceptional contributions to propagating Hindi worldwide.
Dr. Demchenko has authored notable works, including Pushp Vatika – Garden of Poetry (2021), a bilingual Hindi-Russian collection under the Biblioteca Sanskritica series, and various other books in Indian studies.
He has delivered special lectures at esteemed Indian universities such as Delhi University, Allahabad University, and the University of Lucknow, and actively participated in international conferences organized by India’s Ministry of External Affairs. These include the International Regional Hindi Conference in Almaty, Kazakhstan, where he presented on the role of Awadhi poetry in the development of Hindi literature.
A passionate advocate of Indian culture, Dr. Demchenko actively promotes Ramayana and related poetry in Awadhi and Bhojpuri through academic lectures, translations, publications, and artistic participation in Ramlilas as a storyteller and performer. His contributions bridge linguistic, cultural, and academic ties between India and the global community.
